Ali is a native of Cap St. George, Newfoundland and Labrador, and has spent most of his career promoting Francophone rights in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada. He has extensive expertise in Canadian politics and strategic analysis and has a particular interest in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and its impact on minorities. In the context of the Covid-19 Facts project, he uses his extensive leadership experience and his ability to achieve objectives quickly to conceptualize solutions and identify partners.
Ali holds a bachelor's degree from the Université de Moncton in social sciences, with a specialization in political science. After working for several years in the petroleum industry, he is now Executive Director of the Société de l'Acadie du Nouveau-Brunswick.
